9th Day Of An Eco-Friendly Christmas
Reduce Meat
What we can try and do is reduce the amount of meat we eat over the Christmas and new year holidays. I have recently written a post on 22nd November 2020 about how we should all try to go meat free on certain days.
There are many delicious vegetarian and vegan options out there, perhaps you could try replacing just one meaty meal? Like I’ve written in a previous post, Linda McCartney do a fantastic selection which is very yummy! You can find this range in almost all supermarkets. We should also look at where we buy our food. Buying organic meat and vegetables is the best way to ensure that potentially harmful pesticides haven't been used. It's also worth buying food locally if possible as you may be surprised how close your local farmers' market is to your house.
If you’re shopping in a supermarket, loose vegetables is a great place to start reducing your usage of single-use plastics. Not only is it usually cheaper, it is also much better for the environment!
