Give The Gift Of Wildlife This Christmas 🎄
Hi readers I have got something really super exciting to let you know. Some of you may already be aware I recently became The Wildlife Trust for Birmingham and Black Country's first ever Young Ambassador! Which I am so grateful and honoured to hold this position.
Some of you may be wondering what 'The Wildlife Trust is'? Also how can you get involved? As you know I love it when everyone gets involved in nature!
The Wildlife Trust is a lot of people from different backgrounds who all share the same dream to restore as much of the UK's land and seas for nature.
The Trust believes that everyone should have access to nature, the happiness and as well as the health benefits it brings. Did you know that learning and being in and about in nature can improve young people’s physical health, mental well-being, being connected to nature, as well as educational attainment (my mums favourite benefit for me and my brother!).
No matter where you live in the UK, there is a Wildlife Trust that you can participate in, learn about nature, help protect our wildlife and wild places.
The nearest Wildlife Trust to us as a family is Birmingham and Black Country Home | The Wildlife Trust for Birmingham and the Black Country (bbcwildlife.org.uk). The staff, volunteers and members here are simply amazing! (No I didn't get paid to say that!). They give so much of their time to make our local wild spaces thrive. Don't worry if you live elsewhere, if you follow the link below at the end of the post you will be able to find your nearest Wildlife Trust. All Trusts are independent charities so they rely on the good will of everyone to keep them going.
So this Christmas why not give the gift of The Wildlife Trust Membership?! As most young people sometimes get gifts that actually they do not need and also they do not want. Becoming a member you get;
- Four issues of The Trust's Wildlife Magazine each year with all the latest news about the work The Trust are doing, articles, guides and lots more!
- Membership Card for free entry to paid Wildlife Trust reserves around the UK
- A copy of Welcome To Wildlife, a guide featuring 40 of the best local wildlife sites.
- Monthly members e-newsletter.
- Invitation to the Trust’s annual members meeting with guest speakers and the opportunity to vote for Trust Council representatives.
- A welcome pack with an explorer handbook, pin badge, stickers and Wildlife Watch membership card.
- Four copies of Wildlife Watch magazine each year with lots of articles from around the UK, posters, activities and competitions.
- Stickers (which my baby brother loves).
- Wildlife Watcher badge.
- Award card.
