9th Day Of An Eco Christmas πŸŽ„

 Reduce Meat

What we can try and do is reduce the amount of meat we eat over the Christmas and new year holidays. I have previously written posts on how we should all try to go meat free on certain days. If not all the time!!

There are many delicious vegetarian and vegan options out there, perhaps you could try replacing just one meaty meal? Quorn and Linda McCartney do a fantastic selection which is very yummy! You can find these ranges in almost all supermarkets. What I have been really happy to see recently is, that a lot of supermarkets are now doing their own range of plant based food. You are literally spoilt for choice! (See end of post for links).

We should also look at where we buy our food. Buying organic meat and vegetables is the best way to ensure that potentially harmful pesticides haven't been used. It's also worth buying food locally if possible as you may be surprised how close your local farmers' market is to your house.

If you’re shopping in a supermarket, loose vegetables is a great place to start reducing your usage of single-use plastics. Not only is it usually cheaper, it is also much better for the environment!
